About Grand Pass
The Duck Inn puts you just minutes from one of Missouri's most iconic hunting areas.
Grand Pass Conservation Area is one of Missouri’s most recognized public waterfowl destinations and an important stop along the Mississippi Flyway. Located in the Missouri River floodplain in Saline County, the area consists of managed wetlands, agricultural units, river islands, timber tracts, and bottomland habitat that support massive seasonal migrations of waterfowl and other wildlife. Managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, Grand Pass has become nationally known among duck hunters for its strong mallard populations and unique draw-style hunting tradition. The area’s levees, pump systems, and water control structures help maintain high-quality wetland habitat that benefits migrating birds throughout the season.
Grand Pass has also been designated an Important Bird Area by Audubon Missouri due to the abundance and diversity of bird species found throughout the region. Today, conservation partnerships between state and federal agencies, conservation organizations, universities, and local landowners continue working to preserve and restore these wetlands for future generations of hunters, wildlife enthusiasts, and outdoor families.
