About The Duck Inn
Built on Tradition Fueled by Friendship
Every hunter has a story about how they fell in love with the outdoors.
For me, that story began when my uncle introduced me to duck hunting at six or seven years old. Like so many hunters, I quickly discovered that waterfowling is about much more than the birds. It's about early mornings, lifelong traditions, conservation, and the people you share those moments with.
My uncle also introduced me to Ducks Unlimited. As a Lifetime Member, he taught me that protecting wetlands and wildlife ensures future generations can experience the same traditions we cherish today. Those values stayed with me, and now I'm proud to support Ducks Unlimited while watching my own children begin to appreciate the outdoors through the same traditions that shaped my life.
As the years passed, life took us in different directions. Eventually, Grand Pass brought us back together in the marsh, reminding me why I fell in love with waterfowl hunting in the first place.
One day my uncle called and told me about a property just minutes from Grand Pass Conservation Area. At first, I wasn't looking to buy a place. But he saw something I didn't.
He imagined a place where hunters could gather after a morning in the blind, where families could reconnect, where lifelong friendships could grow, and where visitors could experience everything that makes Grand Pass so special.
When I walked through the property, I stopped seeing an old house and started seeing what it could become.
I pictured coffee brewing before sunrise, muddy waders drying in the mudroom, stories shared around the dinner table, and hunters traveling from across Missouri and beyond to experience one of the state's premier public waterfowl destinations.
That vision became The Duck Inn.
Today, our goal is simple. We want to provide a comfortable, welcoming place where hunters, outdoor enthusiasts, and families can relax after a day of adventure and create memories that last long after the season ends.
Whether you're here for ducks, deer, fishing, or simply to enjoy the quiet beauty of rural Missouri, we hope The Duck Inn becomes part of your tradition for years to come.
